Braver and braver

Blake is getting braver and braver when it comes to playground equipment. Joy took him and Brooklynn to the community park today, and Blake went down the big slide without freaking out and crying. Now if he'll just start walking things would be great.

Spring is here!

Now that are days are longer and the weather is perfect, it's been great to get home from work and play with Brooklynn and Blake in our yard. Blake just loves it! He crawls all around the backyard exploring everything. I just had to snap some quick photos of him while Brooklynn was inside helping Joy bake cookies. (He loves "talking" on my cell phone.)

Enjoying the nice weather at Furman

Today we took Blake and Brooklynn to Furman for a walk around the lake in their new wagon. We didn't quite make it all the way around the lake with both of them still in the wagon, but almost. Let's just say they get in each other's ways quite often...which leads to some grabbing and pulling of some sort. It was a beautiful day and it felt good to get out and enjoy it for once.

Rough Easter for Blake

We got to celebrate Easter at Mimi and Papa's house as they were still here in town. It was such a special time for everyone but Blake. He was not himself at all and was still recovering from all the side effects of his 1-year shots. You can really see in the photo of him and Brooklynn on the chair that he just didn't look his normal, bubbly self.

There are days when Blake's eyes look more blue than others. Today was one of those days.

Happy First Birthday!

This past weekend we celebrated Blake's first birthday by having a small group of friends and family over to celebrate. Joy once again made an awesome cake (this time a train), but Blake didn't quite dig into the little one that she made him. It was a great time had by all, and we can't even believe that our little boy is already one! How fast time flies.
